{"id":4600,"date":"2021-07-12T08:38:18","date_gmt":"2021-07-11T22:38:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/?p=4600"},"modified":"2021-07-12T10:01:22","modified_gmt":"2021-07-12T00:01:22","slug":"over-1-million-views-the-international-journal-for-crime-justice-and-social-democracy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/2021\/07\/12\/over-1-million-views-the-international-journal-for-crime-justice-and-social-democracy\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 1 million views \u2013 the International Journal for Crime, Justice and Social Democracy\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crimejusticejournal.com\/\"><em>International Journal for Crime, Justice and Social Democracy<\/em><\/a> (IJCJSD) has reached another milestone \u2013 hitting <strong>one million article abstract views<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Launched in 2013, the Journal seeks to publish critical research about common challenges confronting criminal justice systems around the world and is committed to democratising quality\u00a0knowledge production and dissemination.<\/p>\n<p>The peer reviewed, open access journal publishes four issues per year and is indexed widely in major databases including Scopus, Web of Science and DOAJ \u2013 the main database for open access journals. There are no article processing charges (APCs) and authors maintain copyright with all articles licenced under Creative Commons.<\/p>\n<p>This year, IJCJSD was awarded the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) <a href=\"https:\/\/doaj.org\/apply\/seal\/\">Seal<\/a>.\u00a0 The SEAL is awarded to journals that demonstrate best practice in open access publishing. Of the 16,359 journals indexed by DOAJ, only 9% have the seal. Only 11 Australian journals have this seal (three are QUT OA journals).<\/p>\n<p>In SCImago, the Journal ranks highly in terms of its open access \u2013 1<sup>st<\/sup> in LAW and 1<sup>st<\/sup> in SOCIOLOGY AND POLITICAL SCIENCE in Australia &#8211; and in the top 50 internationally. The Journal has been ranked by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.criminologyopen.com\/pub\/wikilistofjournals\/release\/14\">Criminology Open<\/a> as the second most cited \u201cdiamond journal\u201d in criminology internationally (Diamond = open access with no APCs to authors or institutions).<\/p>\n<p>A number of special issues are scheduled over the next two years that will include themes such as gender violence, green criminological debates from Asia, cybercrime and digital harm, the death penalty and international border and migration discussions.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Editors Kerry Carrington, John Scott and David Goyes recognise the sustained efforts of the Editorial team (past and present), reviewers, authors and the support of the International Editorial Board for the ongoing success of the Journal.\u00a0 As well, the Editors are particularly grateful to QUT Library, for their ongoing support and commitment to open access publishing and quality publishing standards.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The International Journal for Crime, Justice and Social Democracy (IJCJSD) has reached another milestone \u2013 hitting one million article abstract views.
