From Spain, <strong>Alberto Alonso Rimo <\/strong>examines the increase in the punishment of conduct preparatory to an offence displayed in recent times in local criminal law. The increase in \u2018water theft\u2019 in Australia and the issue of national water security is examined by <strong>Alexander Baird<\/strong><strong>, Reece Walters <\/strong>and <strong>Rob White. <\/strong>From South Africa, <strong>Patrick Bashizi <\/strong><strong>Bashige<\/strong><strong> Murhula <\/strong>and<strong> Aden<\/strong><strong> Dejene Tolla <\/strong>analyse the effectiveness of restorative justice practices on victims of crime.<\/p>\n<p>The intersection between incarceration, gender and experience in the Global South is explored in several articles. An intimate case study of intimate partner violence and abuse in Peru is detailed by <strong>Lucia Bracco Bruce<\/strong> who reflects on the intersection of punishment and gender. The experience of motherhood and incarcerated women in Mexico also provides a perspective from the Global South.\u00a0 <strong>Sveinung Sandberg, Carolina Agoff <\/strong>and<strong> Gustavo Fondevila <\/strong>expand existing scholarship on how structurally disadvantaged mothers negotiate their maternal identities.<\/p>\n<p>In this issue<strong> Luke McNamara<\/strong>, <strong>Julia Quilter<\/strong>, <strong>Tamara Walsh <\/strong>and<strong> Thalia Anthony <\/strong>present the findings from their research on the experience of Australian lawyers and allied professionals who have experience supporting, advising and representing people experiencing homelessness.<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on the presidential election in 2020,<strong> Jace Valcore<\/strong><strong>, Jess Rodgers <\/strong>and <strong>Nicole L.
