CJSDRC member, Associate Professor Michael Flood contributed to a new survey of young Australian men\u2019s attitudes towards manhood, launched in Sydney and Melbourne in mid-October.<\/p>\n

This study by Jesuit Social Services\u2019 The Men\u2019s Project, involving 1,000 men aged 18 to 30, has shown that young men who comply with society\u2019s pressures to be a \u2018real man\u2019 report poorer mental health, are twice as likely to consider suicide, more likely to commit acts of sexual harassment and experience and perform acts of violence and bullying. Here Michael identifies key strategies for shifting dominant social norms of manhood. Michael also wrote a short summary of the report for The Conversation.
