{"id":2527,"date":"2017-05-25T09:34:33","date_gmt":"2017-05-24T23:34:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/?p=2527"},"modified":"2017-05-25T09:34:33","modified_gmt":"2017-05-24T23:34:33","slug":"cjrc-researcher-receives-emerald-literati-award-highly-commended-paper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/2017\/05\/25\/cjrc-researcher-receives-emerald-literati-award-highly-commended-paper\/","title":{"rendered":"CJRC Researcher Receives Emerald Literati Award &#8211; Highly Commended Paper"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/staff.qut.edu.au\/files\/avatars\/2514\/89fe6c1132ee01ec199c14710ecfff45-bpfull.jpg\" alt=\"Avatar Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">CJRC researcher and senior lecturer <a href=\"http:\/\/staff.qut.edu.au\/staff\/raymentc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dr Cassandra Cross<\/a> from the School of Justice, Faculty of Law, has\u00a0received a <em>Highly Commended Paper Award<\/em> in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.emeraldgrouppublishing.com\/authors\/literati\/awards.htm?year=2017\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2017\u00a0Emerald Literati Awards of Excellence<\/a>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The winning paper titled <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.emeraldinsight.com\/doi\/full\/10.1108\/JFC-12-2015-0069\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8220;The problem with white noise&#8221;<\/a><\/em> was co-authored by Dr Cross and Michael Kelly (Toronto Police Service) and was published in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.emeraldinsight.com\/toc\/jfc\/24\/2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Journal of Financial Crime <\/a>in 2016.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.emeraldgrouppublishing.com\/authors\/literati\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Emerald Literati Awards<\/a>, which include the Awards for Excellence and Citations of Excellence, are now in their 24th year and were established to celebrate and reward the outstanding contributions of authors and reviewers to scholarly research<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Outstanding Papers form the backbone of the Awards for Excellence. The Editorial Board of each journal is invited to choose a winning paper and three others that deserve a highly commended award from the previous year\u2019s volume.
