Belinda Carpenter<\/strong>\u00a0received an Australian Research Council Discovery<\/em> grant in an extremely competitive field with colleagues\u00a0Gordon Tait,\u00a0Diego\u00a0De\u00a0Leo,\u00a0and Colin\u00a0Tatz.\u00a0The study will investigate how statistical calculations of suicide are dependent upon coronial determination.<\/p>\n

Kerry Carrington<\/strong>\u00a0received the Lifetime Achievement Award <\/a>from the American Society of Criminology Division on Critical Criminology due to her sustained contribution to the field. She also published Feminism and Global Justice<\/em><\/a> with Routledge. She also edited a Special Edition of Critical Criminology on Rural Criminology.<\/a><\/p>\n

Cassandra Cross<\/strong>\u00a0received an\u00a0Early Career Academic Recruitment and Development \/Vice-Chancellor\u2019s Research Fund Travel Fellowship for a research trip to Hong Kong.\u00a0She has a contract from Routledge to co-author a book on Victims of Cyberfraud.<\/p>\n

Mark Lauchs<\/strong> was\u00a0consistently sought out by media to offer insightful commentary on crime and justice issues, including the Queensland Government’s\u00a0Vicious Lawless Association Disestablishment Act laws, security at the G20, and the Senate inquiry into the State Government.<\/p>\n

Kelly Richards<\/strong>\u00a0received a QUT Vice Chancellor\u2019s Performance Award for Excellence in Research in recognition of her stellar research performance.<\/p>\n

Sharon Hayes<\/strong> published Sex, Love and Abuse<\/em>,<\/a> Palgrave Macmillan which received widespread publicity and will shortly publish Criminal Justice Ethics<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Matthew Ball<\/strong> and Angela Dwyer<\/strong> edited a Special Edition of Critical Criminology<\/em>, on Queer Criminology<\/a> and convened a successful one day seminar on the topic.<\/p>\n

Molly Dragiewicz<\/strong> edited \u00a0a collection on Global Human Trafficking<\/a>, <\/em>and co-edited Critical Criminology<\/em>.<\/a> with Walter DeKeseredy<\/p>\n

John Scott\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>joined the School of Justice in 2014, and published two books, Male Sex Work<\/em>,<\/a> and Crime and Society <\/a><\/em><\/p>\n
