It includes talking about his first 10 years at Adobe where he was a senior computer scientist on Photoshop, the changes we have seen in digital imaging and digital media and what it is like to work on software. John will then talk about his role change to working with law enforcement on crimes against children and how Adobe is trying to help in this area. The presentation will cover some interesting technical aspects and demonstrations.

John Penn II, Senior Solutions Architect for Law Enforcement Technologies at Adobe Systems Incorporated in San Jose, California, has spent over three decades writing software. Most recently, he spent eleven years working at Adobe as a Senior Computer Scientist on Photoshop. But after attending the first Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Conference, John was so profoundly affected by what he heard that he moved into what has become the most challenging, rewarding chapter of his career: Victim Identification and Digital Media Analysis for law enforcement. John has helped develop advanced victim identification tools and techniques and train police officers and federal agents on their implementation. His overarching mission now is to foster better communication between law enforcement and the software industry, and promote a better understanding of the challenges faced by both.

Crime and Justice Research Centre Seminar Series with speaker John Penn, Adobe’s Senior Solutions Architect for Law Enforcement Technologies

[1,9697
15318,15317,10242
0":"post-2479","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-uncategorized","7":"category-conferences","8":"tag-johnpenn","9":"tag-lawenforcementtechnologies","10":"tag-seminar
["GET
