It considers the intervention of the Australian Border Force into the student\u2019s case and suggests that due process and procedural fairness were compromised as a result. The essay argues that Australia\u2019s continual bypassing of justice in the name of national security threatens to both isolate and condemn us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Copies of the article are available on request.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dean\u2019s previous work has appeared in such publications as <em>Child Abuse &amp; Neglect<\/em>, <em>Thesis Eleven<\/em>, <em>The Journal of Family Violence<\/em>, <em>The Journal of Paediatrics &amp; Child Health<\/em>, <em>Children Australia<\/em> and <em>Continuum<\/em>.
