{"id":1884,"date":"2016-09-09T12:20:32","date_gmt":"2016-09-09T02:20:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/?p=1884"},"modified":"2017-06-16T15:27:08","modified_gmt":"2017-06-16T05:27:08","slug":"grant-success-for-cjrc-researcher-dr-kelly-richards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/2016\/09\/09\/grant-success-for-cjrc-researcher-dr-kelly-richards\/","title":{"rendered":"Grant Success for CJRC Researcher Dr. Kelly Richards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/files\/2015\/03\/Kelly.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-487\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.qut.edu.au\/crime-and-justice-research-centre\/files\/2015\/03\/Kelly.jpg\" alt=\"Kelly\" width=\"141\" height=\"141\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/0.academia-photos.com\/306735\/75671\/11581787\/s200_lorana.bartels.jpg\" alt=\"Lorana Bartels\" width=\"152\" height=\"152\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Senior Lecturer <a href=\"http:\/\/staff.qut.edu.au\/staff\/richark2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dr. Kelly Richards<\/a> from the School of Justice, Faculty of Law, has recently been successful in securing a QUT Engagement Innovation Grant with fellow researchers <a href=\"http:\/\/staff.qut.edu.au\/staff\/ewingb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dr. Bronwyn Ewing<\/a> (School of Curriculum, Faculty of Education, QUT), and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canberra.edu.au\/about-uc\/faculties\/busgovlaw\/about-us\/school-of-law\/dr-lorana-bartels\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Associate Professor Lorana Bartels<\/a> (Head of the School of Law and Justice, University of Canberra) in partnership with Queensland Corrective Services.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The successful project <em><u>\u201c<\/u><\/em><em><u>Learning Together: Bringing prisoners and students together for peer learning about crime and justice\u201d<\/u><\/em> will involve the delivery of criminology course material by QUT School of Justice lecturers to mixed groups of QUT Bachelor of Justice students and adult prisoners inside a prison learning environment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The unique program will provide real-life learning experiences for justice students while facilitating pathways to education for adult prisoners.
