The International Journal for Crime, Justice and Social Democracy (IJCJSD) ranked well in the release of the annual Scimago International Journal Rankings for 2023.
The Scimago Journal Rank (SJR) indicator is a measure of the scientific influence of scholarly journals that accounts for both the number of citations received by a journal and the importance or prestige of the journals where the citations come from. Citation data is analysed from the Scopus dataset (the world’s largest abstract and indexing database). The Journal is ranked in Law and Sociology and Political Science.
In Law, the Journal has gone from Q2(2022) to Q1 (2023)
In rankings by country, IJCJSD is 1st in Law and 1st in Law open access in the Pacific Region
Internationally, IJCJSD is in the top 150 Law journals – and in the top 20 open access Law publications
The Journal is an open access, peer reviewed, international journal that seeks to publish critical research about common challenges confronting criminal justice systems around the world. Supported by the School of Justice at QUT, the Journal is committed to cognitive justice and as such aspires to democratise knowledge, bridge global divides and encourage the voices of those on the periphery to publish with the Journal. This includes scholars from diverse Indigenous and first nations peoples communities, as well as scholars from the Global North and South committed to cognitive justice.
The open access model used by the Journal ensures authors retain copyright and articles are licenced via Creative Commons to make published articles more readily available and useable. There are no APCs (Article Processing Charges). Authors can submit and publish at no cost ensuring criminology research and scholarship is accessible to all, without paywalls and via best practice in open access practices.
