The inextricable link between trust and successful fundraising
Think you know all about building donor, funder and team trust? Think again.
This year’s FIA/ACPNS Alumni Anniversary Breakfast will shine a light on what it takes to build deep stakeholder confidence and loyalty – and the insights from researchers and sector experts may surprise you!
Trust in many institutions is declining, and trust in nonprofit organisations is no different. A US study recently found 73% of respondents said it is very important to trust a charity before donating to it. However, only 19% said they highly trust charities, and only 10% said they are optimistic about the ability of charities to become trustworthy. This is very concerning, given we know that trust plays a critical role in engaging and retaining donors, volunteers and fundraisers.
So what is trust? What role does it play in your team, and what are the perspectives of funders, fundraisers, researchers and storytelling experts? A panel, chaired by ACPNS Director, Associate Professor Wendy Scaife, will discuss these questions and more, including:
Neal Harvey, CEO, The Tim Fairfax Family Foundation | What builds trust from a funder’s perspective?
Lesley Ray, Philanthropy Director, Mater Foundation | Important lessons in building donor trust
Dr Anne Lane, Senior Lecturer and Researcher, Queensland University of Technology (QUT) | Organisational storytelling to build trust
With invaluable takeaways for your fundraising campaigns that you can put into practice right away, this event will give you the tools you need to connect more meaningfully with your donors and staff and take a deep dive into what building trust really entails.
