At October’s Tea & Buns, Professor Ross Gordon from QUT will be having a conversation with us about how COVID-19 is very much a behavioural issue at heart. He will discuss how the pandemic has led to behavioural problems relating to alcohol consumption, and gambling. He will also discuss how behaviour changes will be key to eliminating COVID-19 – including the encouragement of vaccine uptake.
Ross is interested in social issues & behaviour and social change. His expertise includes using social marketing for change, consumer cultures, and critical marketing. He works across various topic areas including energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, alcohol and alcohol marketing, gambling, tobacco control, mental health, and workplace bullying. He is also interested in critiques of neoliberalism and related social activism. Ross is President of the Australian Association of Social Marketing (AASM), is on the Board of Directors of the International Social Marketing Association, and the WHO Technical Advisory Group on Behavioural Insights and Sciences.
Join us for this timely conversation and find out how you can support colleagues, friends and family during this tough time.
