Congratulations to Dr Alexandra Williamson of QUT’s Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies who has been selected as a recipient of the QUT Business School Executive Dean’s Commendation for Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award for 2019.
This is a wonderful and well-earned achievement for Alex. It recognises and acknowledges the quality, rigor and contribution of Alex’s work, as well as the national and international standing of the thesis.
Alex’s PhD titled ‘Perceptions on the Accountability of Public Ancillary Funds’, examined perceptions of nonprofit accountability in philanthropic organisations in Australia, and strengthens understandings of to whom, for what, how and why PubAFs exercise accountability. Alex has also co-authored ‘Publicness and the Identity of Public Foundations’, with A/Prof. Belinda Luke, in The Foundation Review, with several further journal articles from her thesis currently under review.
We also celebrate the contribution of Alex’s supervisory team of A/Prof Belinda Luke and Dr Craig Furneaux. Well done to all!
