Happy Friendship Day! Our student bloggers share their tips for making new friends at uni, and how they met their best bud while studying at QUT!
Ever find yourself sitting alone in the library, studying away, and wondering where you can find a friend? Student blogger Maddie knows how you feel, but she found many of her friends through her BFA – Drama classes and QUT Clubs. So never fear! You can always find a study buddy if you look hard enough… and stop taking selfies in the library… #qutrealworld #qutstudent #studentlife #nationalfriendshipday
QUT Student Blogger Racquel would like you to meet one of her best buds, Holly. Holly and Racquel met in their Design and Creative Thinking class back in Semester One of 2014 and Holly was Racquel’s first friend she made at university. Since then the duo have torn up the netball court together, planned a holiday together and conquered New Zealand together. Embrace all the people you meet at university, Racquel did and she made a life friend by doing so! Happy Friendship Day!
The default topic when meeting someone at uni is generally, well, uni. But you already both have that in common, why not find out if your new friend has seen the latest Marvel movie or plays the same sport as you? I forged a bond with my uni buds over our shared love for house music and eating burgers. Skip the assessment talk and to get to know your fellow students! #unibuds #youcanalwaystalkaboutassessmentlater
If you’re thinking of moving out of home to study at uni, shared accommodation around campus can be a great way to meet other students. Who knows, you might meet your very best pal, just like student blogger Imogen did! #HappyFriendshipDay #firstyearatuni
