You want a hint, a semi-golden ticket, a total summary of what I’ve learned from being in the QUT portfolio process, and, later, talking to people who do the admissions?
It’s a simple equation really: QTAC + students = stress, fear and worry. And be sure to double that stress, fear and worry if you add someone who’s indecisive into the equation…like I was when I was filling out QTAC. I’m indecisive enough when I’m filling out a simple survey, so when it came to choosing courses, saying I had difficulty was a big understatement. There’s the few students who know what they’ve wanted to do since they were 7, and that’s great for them. But then there’s students like me, who changed their mind every few months on what I wanted to do once I finished school.
Easily my favorite thing about being a creative industries student at university is the massive amount of holidays I get to indulge in. I usually don’t have exams, so end up with about four months off at the end of each year. You jelly? 😉
I like to travel as much as I can, so I usually spend a part of this time overseas. Last year I embarked on a trip around South East Asia with two mates, which entailed some awesome experiences. We visited Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam – a trip I’d highly recommend. There was definitely some unique and interesting adventures involved, and here’s one of them…
