Upcoming Event – “Online Abuse & Harassment: New Technologies, Old Inequalities”

CJRC researcher and lecturer Dr Bridget Harris from the School of Justice, Faculty of Law, will be speaking at an upcoming seminar hosted by Western Sydney University which will focus on “Online Abuse & Harassment: New Technologies, Old Inequalities” .

This seminar will bring together three leading Australian criminologists in the field of online abuse and harassment to examine how new technologies are being integrated into, and transforming, patterns of inequality and exploitation.

Presentations will include:

  • Dr Bianca Fileborn (UNSW)“Conceptualising online harrassment: a new frontier, or virtually more of the same?”
  • Dr Bridget Harris (QUT)“Digital domestic violence: Understanding place, space and spacelessness”
  • Dr Michael Salter (UWS)“Image-based abuse across the lifespan: Childhood adolescence, adulthood”
