The workplace integrated learning (WIL) program has been one of the most positive experiences in my four years at university. It has been an eye opening experience to say the least. I’ve been placed in a financial planning firm, by the name of Brisbane Financial Services (BFS).
The QUT Economics and Finance Society (EFS) is a student run social club aimed at engaging and connecting students, in particular, but not limited to those studying Economics or Finance. EFS aims to inform, inspire and incorporate its members into the real world through professional workshops, extensive networking events and educational seminars. Ultimately, EFS aims to position its members effectively for future employment.
My name is Joshua Evans and I am a first-year Bachelor of Business (Finance) student. I have been asked to write about the story of my unorthodox journey whilst at QUT. I have told this story briefly at the 2016 Senior Leadership Group Conference earlier this year in May in support of the Students As Partners initiative. This blog post will aim to re-tell that story with some additional information.
