VENUE UPDATE ~ The ACERE main conference program is to be held in newly established $230 million Science and Engineering Centre in the heart of our CBD QUT Gardens Point campus. Due to open early 2013, the aim of the centre is to be a world-leader in developing science, technology, engineering and mathematics to research and develop solutions for climate change, global sustainability and Australia’s emerging green workforce needs.
Participants of the ACERE conference will be the first of many to experience this new construction that houses The Cube ~ Soaring across two storeys of the centre, the Cube is designed to support interactive displays of research projects using advanced digital technology, including 14 high-definition projectors, over 40 multi-touch screens and sound technology. The Cube will inspire and engage the next generation of thinkers and doers with an extensive outreach to schools, including hands-on and interactive workshops and public programs for high school students and QUT undergraduate and postgraduate students.
ACERE participants will also enjoy the stunning views of Brisbane River, Kangaroo Point cliffs and the City Botanic Gardens at the ACERE Awards Dinner to be held at Room Three-Sixty. Opening in early 2013, Brisbane’s newest premier venue, Room Three Sixty epitomises sophistication and elegance. This premier top floor venue features floor to ceiling glass windows and has unsurpassed views of the city skyline.
